Karnataka Examinations Authority to hold DCET again on June 30

The KEA will be conducting the diploma common entrance test again on June 30 following complaints that questions in the exam, held on Sunday, were repeats of previous question papers.

Minister for Higher Education R V Deshpande said DCET will be reconducted on June 30 and parents and students are requested to cooperate.

The candidates who will appear for this exam do not have to pay additional fees.

All 14 technical subjects, including science and mathematics (common for all branches), will be held again on June 30 and candidates can visit KEA website www.kea.kar.nic.in to download their admission tickets from 6 pm onwards on Tuesday.

Students who appeared for DCET on Sunday, at least 60-70 per cent questions were exactly similar to last year’s question paper.

NEST-2013 Counseling starts from July 12, 2013

The Candidates who have cleared NEST-2013 are invited to Counseling for admission to NISER (Bhubaneswar), CBS (Mumbai) and ISERC (Visva-Bharati)

Candidates are requested to read the following instructions carefully for their first counselling:

Candidates who are eligible to appear for the first counseling will be provided with necessary portal to register online.

Online registration for admission will open on June 17, 2013, at 12:00 noon.

Deadline for online registration is July 10, 2013, 12:00 noon.

On the day of the first counseling, candidates will have choice to appear at any one of the two places

— NISER, Bhubaneswar or CBS, Mumbai

The registered candidates must be present at the counseling venue of choice on July 12, 2013, by 9:30 am.

Attendance of all the candidates present at the counseling venues will be taken at 10:00 am.

Admission to NISER, CBS and ISERC will be strictly on the basis of this merit list.

Counseling and admission process is likely to start from 11:00 am.

First round of counseling will continue until the seats are filled or the merit list prepared

Application of Interest:

Simple interest during moratorium period

Service interest during moratoriumperiod regularly and avail a special discount of 1.00% in interest rate.

Repayment:

Repayment Holiday / Moratorium is “Course Period + 1 year” or “6 months after getting job”, whichever is earlier.

Loans up to Rs.7.50 Lac to be repaid within a maximum period of 10 years & those above Rs.7.50 Lac within a maximum period of 15 years after commencement of repayment period
